Here are the basics on the procedures...
Microblading- is done with a microblade. It achieves hairlike strokes.
Microshading (Powder Brow)- is done using a specialized machine. It achieves a soft powder look. It is great for most skin types and ages nicely. It looks as if you used an eyebrow pencil and can be combined with microblading to achieve a hair/powder look.
Nanoblading AKA Digital Microblading- is done with a tiny nanoblade. It achieves hairlike strokes that are thinner than the using the microblade. Nanoblading/ Digital Microblading is suitable for all skin types and is preferred for older thinner skin. This procedure is also ideal for oily skin.
HYBRID (Combination) Brow- combines microblading and microshading to achieve a fuller looking brow and adds dimension and additional color.
Ombre- refers to the progression from light to dark coloring to create dimension or drama within the eyebrow.
All of these procedures achieve the most natural looking semi-permanent brows available. If you are confused with too many options...we can advise you at the salon based upon your skin type and desired results.
At your appointment, a method called "Brow Mapping" is used to mathematically measure your face based on your natural features, the beauty ratio and a lot of measured lines. Once we have the shape of your new eyebrows established, we prepare for Microblading. Microblading is performed by using a hand instrument with a row of very fine needles on the end. Pigment matched to your features is applied with these needles into the the basal membrane layer of skin (which divides epidermis from the dermis) using fine feathering strokes. A topical numbing cream is used to ensure maximum comfort. The result is very crisp, fine hair looking strokes that will not blur. The total healing process can take up to 7 days and the pigment is set in within 4-6 weeks. You can enjoy waterproof, sweat-proof, natural looking full brows for up to 3+ years. Depending on your skin, you may require touch-up sessions every year or so.
Microblading is an art. It is intricate and involves multiple factors. Specialized tools are required for this procedure, and a very stable and experienced hand as well. All of our tools are disposable. The highest sanitary precautions/procedures are in place to minimize any chance of infection. Our technicians and facility are licensed by the Orange County and Palm County Departments of Health.
What to Expect:
At your Initial Session: This takes approximately 1 1/2- 2 hours. We will determine your perfect brow shape and color and then apply the pigment. A topical numbing cream is used. Right after, your brows look FABULOUS! The next day they can appear dark and a little thicker. Around day 4-7 you will have some slight flaking or peeling. Your color is not "cured or true" for 4-6 weeks after your procedure. At that time you can decide on whether you need an enhancement session or not.
At your enhancement session: Once you have healed and your pigment is set in we touch up any areas that need a little extra pigment or shape to make your brows absolutely FABULOUS! (4-6 weeks later.)
Part 3- Maintenance- Depending on your skin, you will need Touch Up sessions. This can vary greatly between 6 months to 4 years. ( My average client comes in after aboutn 2.5 years for a color boost.) When you are ready, just schedule your Touch-Up.
Does it Hurt?
I use a topical anesthetic that numbs the skin. I also re-apply throughout the process. I tried it on myself so I could honestly answer this question, using the products I use. The answer is, I was not in discomfort, but that doesn't mean you won't be. I didn't feel anything but a scraping sensation. I had previously had my eyebrows tattooed by a professional using the permanent makeup method with tattoo machine. That to me, was pretty painful. By using the manual microblade method, pain is minimized.
How long will it last?
This is a tough one to answer because everyone's skin is different. On average, you will likely notice fading after a year or two and want a touch-up. But some people can go up to 3-5 years. Its all going to depend on your skin. Microblading procedures are affected by the “canvas” (your skin) that they are performed on. Lifestyle, medications, smoking, metabolism, facial surgery and other procedures, and age of skin all contribute to fading. The initial application is always applied conservatively because every person’s skin is different and the final color can only be precisely determined and adjusted during a follow-up appointment after the initial application has fully healed. Because of this, the micoblading process is not complete until after the Enhancement Session. In all cases, a follow-up appointment is required approximately 30 days after your initial application to fine tune and ensure the best result. This is included in your initial procedure.
What can I expect after the procedure?
Temporary side effects from microbading include but are not limited to: redness, swelling, puffiness, bruising, dry patches and tenderness.
You should expect to lose approximately 1/3 of the initial color during the healing process. With that in mind, Your brows will appear too dark the first few days. In approximately six days it may appear too light. After about 10 days, the color will show more. It will appear softer when completely healed after 4-6 weeks.
